Frequently Asked Questions
What does ELAC stand for?
The East Los Angeles College Theatre Arts Department. More information here.
What is the ELAC Theatrepedia?
An online theatre-research library containing information about the history, aesthetics and technique of theatre. It also contains play texts, theatre criticism, historical documents and links to other theatre-related Internet sites.
Can I submit my own academic theatre papers for inclusion in your library?
Submissions of academic papers, historical documents, links and other materials are welcome. Academic papers must meet basic academic standards. The preferred file format is ASCII (DOS text) or HTML. E-Mail elac@perspicacity.com
for further information.
How often is the library updated?
The library is updated monthly. The date of the last update can be found at the bottom of every page. The Additions page lists additions within the last 90 days.
Is this a non-profit organization?
Non-profit is an understatement. However, we are looking for ways to help make the site pay for itself. For that reason we have links to online booksellers and may take advertising banners in the future.
Why don't you have more information about 20th-century playwrights?
We cannot include play texts or analyses that have been published within the last 75 years due to copyright restrictions.
Can I get a list of the materials that are housed at ELAC?
Yes. Go to ELAC Materials.
